Spanish export of flowers and live plants increased by 2% until October 2023 , totaling 526 million euros, and imports decreased by 1%, standing at 289 million euros, compared to the same period of the previous year.
The live plant remains the main chapter of Spanish exports , with 432 million euros, from January to October 2023, which is 1.8% more than in the same period of 2022, according to data from the Customs Department. and Special Taxes from the Tax Agency, processed by FEPEX . Within the living plant, the outdoor plant stands out, with 195 million euros (-0.2%) and the indoor plant with 69 million euros (-5%).
After the live plant, the second group of products most exported by Spain is the cut flower , with 51.7 million euros, 0.3% less, the third is foliage, with 34.5 million euros (+15 .5%) and the fourth are bulbs, with 7.7 million euros (-8%).
The Spanish import of flowers and live plants in the period analyzed, from January to October 2023, stood at 289 million euros, 1% more than in the same months of 2022, of which 140.8 million euros corresponded to live plants (+2%).
After the live plant, Spanish imports of cut flowers stood at 114.6 million euros, which represents a decrease of 3.6% compared to the same period in 2022.
This is followed by the import of bulbs, with 18 million euros (-1%) and that of foliage, with 15.3 million euros (-4.5%).
