During Kom in de Kas the general public has the unique opportunity to take a look at the greenhouse of various greenhouse growers in the Netherlands. These greenhouse growers (vegetable, flower, plant and fruit growers) are happy to share what they are proud of: the art of growing beautiful, fresh, tasty, healthy and safe natural produce that you can enjoy every day.

In the mid-1960s, a kind of open house for greenhouse horticulture was organized for the first time. These open days were so successful that in 1977 the first edition of Kom in de Kas was organized in the Netherlands. Since then, Kom in de Kas has been the annual public event for Dutch greenhouse horticulture. After a record number of 228,000 visitors in the jubilee year of 2002, Kom in de Kas rose to a respectable eighth place in the top 10 national events.
