The president and the two vice presidents of Fepex.

This is the fifth time that Jorge F. Brotóns has been elected president of FEPEX , a position he has held since December 2006. He is also president of the Federation of Fruit and Horticultural Products Entrepreneurs of Alicante, FEXPHAL, and president of Bonnysa Agroalimentaria, a company that is dedicated to the production and marketing of fruits and vegetables, with productive employees in the autonomous communities of Murcia, Andalusia, the Valencian Community and the Canary Islands.

The Assembly has also elected two vice presidents . Cecilio Peregrín González, president of the lettuce sector of Proexport (Murcia) has been appointed vice president of vegetables and Joan Serentil, vice president secretary of Afrucat (Catalonia) and president of the FEPEX Pear and Apple Committee, has been appointed vice president of fruits.

The Assembly has also approved the 2024 Roadmap , which will focus on defending a regulatory framework for productive and commercial activity in accordance with the specific characteristics of the sectors represented, fruits and vegetables and live flowers and plants. It will also focus on the defense of the single European market and community preference and, thirdly, it will focus, among the main lines of action, on demanding compliance with the principle of reciprocity in trade policy, so that community productions are not be harmed by the growing regulations required in the EU in the environmental, labor, social fields... not required in third countries.

After the private part, the public part of the Assembly included four conferences .

In the first conference “Agriculture, geopolitics and business” , Horacio González-Alemán Sánchez, Associate Professor of Socio-Economic Environment at San Telmo Business School, has reviewed the main reasons that have caused the rebellion to break out in agriculture, many of which They have their origin outside the business, in the geopolitical environment.

Next, the Director of the Cajamar Research Service, Ignacio Atance Muñiz, spoke about “Keys to the future of the competitiveness of the fruit and vegetable sector” , reviewing the main magnitudes of the sector and also analyzing the new situation that is opening up. in 2024 with the Strategic Dialogue opened by the European Commission with the agricultural sector and what changes may occur for the fruit and vegetable sector and how to take advantage of it.

The Director of FEPEX, Jose María Pozancos, has addressed the challenges of the sector in the face of the new regulatory framework , and specifically in the field of trade policy, agricultural policy and labor policy.

The director of FRUIT ATTRACTION , María José Sánchez, also participated in the Assembly, presenting the news of the next edition, number 16, which will be held from October 8 to 10, in Madrid.

The inauguration of the public part of the Assembly corresponded to the president of FEPEX, Jorge F. Brotóns; to the president of Asociafruit, the Andalusian Association of Exporting Producers of Fruits, Vegetables, Nuts, Flowers and Live Plants, host of the event, and the Commercial and Social Economy Director of Cajamar, Francisco Manuel Martinez. The closing was carried out by the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development of the Junta de Andalucía, Carmen Crespo.
